Ryan Abrigo was the big winner for the second year in a row. He won the 12 inch Expert and World final main event and took third in the 10 inch Expert class on his new Honda CRF replica BBR mini.

In the Women’s class Ashley Fiolek, multi time WMA champion and X Games Gold medalist finished a strong second on a LeBigUSA.com backed YCF minibike.

Two wins and a third for the BBR backed rider

Las Vegas, NV (May 5, 2013) – The tenth annual GEICO AMA MiniMotoSX took place inside the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas and Ryan Abrigo was the big winner for the second year in a row. Abrigo won the 12 Inch Expert and World final main event and took a third in the 10 Inch Expert class. In total, there were nearly 300 entries in 15 classes of competition and a large crowd witnessed a lot of exciting racing.

Braaap-backed Michael Blose won the first of the three Expert finals by taking the 10 Inch Expert class. He had a great battle with CHP’s Willy Browning and BBR’s Abrigo.

Abrigo came out swinging in the 12 Inch Expert class and dominated on his new Honda CRF replica BBR mini. Mike Valade again made the long trip from France and earned second position ahead of Italy’s Fancisco Levi.

Fourteen year old Carson Brown dominated the two 13-17 year old Youth classes topping Fouert Thibault and Dillon Thompson in the 10 Inch class. In the 12 Inch Youth class, Brown was chased by Bret Welch and William Bojorquez.

In the 9-12 year old Youth class, ten year old Tristan Edmonds held off repeated pass attempts by Jensen Brown to take the win. Dalton Bolinas took third.

Tatum Sik defended her Women’s class title, which was made sweeter by the fact that multi time WMA champion Ashley Fiolek. Former MMSX women’s champion Jackie Ives rounded out the podium.

In the 10 Inch Amateur class, Gauthier Gourjault made the trip from France pay off with a win. Austin Tessitore and Kevin Popaeko rounded out the podium.

The 12 Inch Amateur class was won by Zach Martino but the crowd was cheering on Tatum Sik, who had just won the Women’s final in the race immediately before. Drake Williams took third.

The Vet 35+ class, it was SSR-mounted Jeff Willow winning for the second year in a row. The former top Supercross and ArenaCross racer dominated the class and also competed in the Expert classes.

The 16 Inch Amateur class was won by Shawn Rhinehart over his good friend Daniel Maynet. Scott White took the final podium position.

The 8 Inch and Vintage class was won by Jake Osbourne. Zac Hayes, the defending champion finished second and Joshua Sheffer was third.

Jake Osbourn took a second win in the 10 Inch Stock/Mod class. Joshua Sheffer was second and Austin Parr rounded out the podium.

The 12 Inch Stock/Mod class was won by Austin Parr with his second podium of the night. Derek Cappiello and Anthony Esposito shared the podium in second and third.

The final race of the evening takes all of the podium finishers from the Expert, Youth and Women’s classes as well as the top International riders for the World Final. Abrigo and Blose had an amazing back and forth battle for the top spot that went all the way to the last lap with Abrigo taking a narrow victory despite losing his brakes and blowing a few turns. France’s Valade rounded out the podium.

Ashley Fiolek Confirmed to Race 2013 GEICO MiniMotoSX

Current WMX Champion making MiniMotoSX debut

Irvine, CA. (May 2, 2013) – Ashley Fiolek, the current Women’s Motocross Champion has confirmed that she will be racing the 2013 GEICO AMA MiniMotoSX, fueled by Monster Energy and presented by Freegun Underwear this Sunday, May 5^th inside the Orleans Arena. Freegun Underwear helped arrange a bike via the French based YCF team and Fiolek got to spend a little time on the bike this week to prepare.

Fiolek had this to say about her first time competing at MiniMotoSX: “I’m really excited to be a part of MiniMotoSX this weekend in Las Vegas, especially since I think it’s sick and really fun! I love shredding on a pit bike. I can’t thank the whole Freegun Underwear and YCF team enough for giving me this great opportunity to race on this badass bike! I’m excited to represent Freegun! The bike is perfectly sized for me and really fast for a pit bike. After a few laps I felt really comfortable. I haven’t ridden a pit bike in so long, but at the end of the day, I realized how fun it is and its fun to whip!”

Everybody can race at MiniMotoSX as there are eight adult classes and three youth classes as well as a Women’s class. And new for 2013, Electric bikes are eligible to compete in the appropriate classes based on wheel size and wheelbase. For the fourth year, the MiniMotoSX will conclude with the World Final race that pits the top three finishers from the Expert & Youth classes plus the Women’s champion to take on the International Champions for bragging rights and cash. This event is a great time for racers and spectators and for most; this is the closest you can ever get to racing a Supercross. One of the Mini Bike leaders will have a fleet of riders on course

Irvine, CA. (April 12, 2013) – BBR Motorsports is synonymous with Mini Bike racing and has had great success at the GEICO MiniMotoSX, fueled by Monster Energy and presented by Freegun Underwear over the years. Although they are known for really trick bikes, you can see that having fun is the driving force for why the Brown Brothers have attended all nine previous MiniMotoSX events.

BBR’s Ryan Abrigo was the most successful rider in 2012 as he took wins in both the 12 Inch Expert and World Final class and finished second in the 10 Inch Expert class. Abrigo’s biggest competition will likely come from teammate Derek Costella, who has won more Expert class MiniMotoSX events than any other rider. Costella will be back again this year and gunning for even more championship wins. Both of these exceptional athletes will be on the ‘all new’ BBR Motorsports Perimeter Framed CRF110 Based bikes this year for the 12 inch class.

“Honda has been great to work with as we develop these new CRF race bikes”, says BBR Owner, Duane Brown. “We have been a little rushed to get them ready for MiniMotoSX, but we are excited to bring a new breed of bike to the event and I think we will be ready to win”.

You can also expect to see two second generation Brown’s racing again as Carson Brown will be back to defend his title in the 12 Inch Youth 13-17 class. His cousin, Jensen will be competing in the Youth 9-13 class. And Carson’s father, Duane, will be back racing multiple classes and looking to defend his title in the 10 Inch Stock/Mod class.

Team CHP will have two former MMSX Champions gunning for the win

Irvine, CA. (March 27, 2013) – CHP Racing backed Willy Browning and Austin Politelli have both had great success at MiniMotoSX in the past. Both riders have confirmed their participation in the 2013 GEICO MiniMotoSX, fueled by Monster Energy and presented by Freegun Underwear, which will take place inside the Orleans Arena on the Sunday following the Monster Energy AMA Supercross Finals in Las Vegas.

Browning, a top Supercross and Arenacross privateer for years is well known as a great Mini Bike racer and in 2011; he became the first and only rider yet to win all three Expert class finals in the same night (12 Inch, 10 Inch and the World Final). “I am really looking forward to having a fun night of racing and want to be in contention for the wins” said Browning. “Racing Mini Bikes is such a great time and I hope that everybody gets out to Vegas for the 10^th annual MiniMotoSX”.

Politelli has had a breakout year in the West Coast 250 Supercross Championship culminating with a fourth place finish at the San Diego round, just before the West Coast riders went into their break. “I won the Youth Championship in MiniMotoSX a few times and I am riding better than ever at Supercross so this is my time to win the Expert class” said Politelli.

The largest Mini Bike race in the world celebrates tenth anniversary

Irvine, CA. (January 30, 2013) – The tenth annual GEICO MiniMotoSX, Fueled by Monster Energy will take place during the Monster Energy Supercross finals weekend in Las Vegas. On Sunday May 5^th, you can put your own gear on and hit the track inside the Orleans Arena. This is the largest Mini Bike race in the world and you can expect over 300 riders to compete for AMA number 1 plates and the largest purse in Mini Bike racing. There is a $3,000 purse on the line for each of the two expert main events and an additional $3,000 for the World Final.

“Racing Mini Bikes is a lot of fun and I am proud of the fact that we have created the largest Mini Bike race in the world and made it to year ten” said Eric Peronnard, the co-creator of MiniMotoSX. “Mini Bike racing is not as popular as it was a few years ago so I am not sure we will make it to eleven but we will build another great track and hope to remind everybody just how much fun it is to race Mini Bikes and generate enough excitement to keep going for the future”.
